Code Blue Drills are typically conducted in front of patrons to simulate the pressure of a real emergency with onlookers. Today you will watch a passive rescue drill that was performed during inservice.
These planned simulations, led by a Wake Aquatic Partners Lifeguard Educator, create a controlled environment in which lifeguard teams are tested on their ability to respond to and manage life-threatening situations. Teams are evaluated on their recognition of the emergency, activation of the emergency action plan, and overall patient care. The drills focus on both in-water and out-of-water scenarios, ensuring lifeguards are well-prepared to act quickly and effectively in any situation.
