Dr. Neubardt recommends you look at Vitals.com and Healthgrades.com, sites that provide information and reviews about physicians. Don’t be as concerned about the stars, he says, as the comments patients share. Read the comments and see if you believe they are real patients saying real things. You will know just by reading the comments.

“If you get a feel that this doctor is compassionate and caring and talented, then that’s a doctor you want to see,” says Dr. Neubardt.

The best spine surgeons will understand the anxieties and concerns you have and the pain you feel. They will care about the post-operative needs you may have, and be available to you. If you have a problem such as an infection or pain issue and call your surgeon’s office at 2am, someone should answer the call.
