The Industrial Revolution gave us most of the modern conveniences we take for granted today (it also gave us many of our fabulous antiques!) I took a boat trip on the River Tees between Yarm and Preston Park Museum in the North East of England. Take a look at this now glorious and clean river, once known (due to it carrying chemicals, steel and coal to feed the Industrial Revolution) as the ‘Steel River’
Today, it’s bulging with Trout, Salmon, Swans…and Paddle Boarders!
