ရန်ကုန်ထဲက စစ်အုပ်စုဝင်တွေဟာ မြို့နယ်တချို့မှာ တစ်နိုင်တစ်ပိုင်ပြေးဆွဲမောင်းနှင်နေတဲ့ ဘေးတွဲခေါ် သုံးဘီးဆိုင်ကယ်နဲ့ ဆိုက်ကယ်ကယ်ရီပြေးဆွဲသူတွေဆီက လိုင်းကြေးယူပြီး ခွင်(ဂွင်)တွေ့နေကြပြန်ပါတယ်။
On March 10, 2026, reports emerged from Yangon that junta-affiliated security forces and local authorities are systematically extorting money from sidecar (three-wheeler) and motorcycle taxi drivers. These operators, who are mostly low-income individuals providing essential local transport, are being forced to pay "line fees" or protection money to avoid arrest or seizure of their vehicles. Despite the ongoing economic crisis and fuel shortages, these informal workers are being targeted as a new source of illicit income for the military’s lower-ranking personnel. MPA investigates how these daily extortions are making it nearly impossible for these small-scale transporters to earn a living in Myanmar’s commercial capital.
