On September 24th, 2023. An officer from the Amery Police Department saw a vehicle sitting in a park whose owner was a habitual drunk driver. The officer decided to approach the man in the driver seat to make sure he was ok to drive. The man admitted to being drunk and the officer offered him a ride home which he refused. He was warned that if he was seen driving that he would be arrested and charged for drunk driving. The suspect was charged with “Operating While Intoxicated (7th).” The charge was later dismissed in court.
