This short video shows how to gainstage like a bad ass ninja in Studio One 3. Since the Normalize and Gain functions work at peak levels and not RMS it might be better to set the gainstaging level to -12dB peak. Instead of -18dB as in the video.
Keep in mind that Normalize and Gain are non-destructive operations that works by only adjusting the clip gain of an audio event. Also note that you won't be able to see how many dB's were actually added to a clip after normalizing
