Herzog says Americans against Iran war because they ‘do not know the intricacies of war’

Описание: In an interview with CBS Evening News on Thursday, Israeli President Isaac Herzog said the Iran war is not popular among Americans because “people do not know the intricacies of the war.”

“I understand it's not a popular war in America because, you know, usually people do not know the intricacies of the war. And they also compare it to previous and other wars. This is a unique war,” he said.

According to recent polls by CNN, Reuters and the Washington Post, around 60 percent of Americans disapprove of the Israel-US attacks on Iran.

The US administration has scrambled to provide a unified narrative on why President Trump decided to attack Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio suggested the US struck only after learning of an imminent Israeli strike, but officials later on backtracked, insisting Trump authorised the strikes because Tehran was not seriously negotiating limiting its nuclear ambitions, and the US needed to destroy Iran’s military capabilities.
