I avoid people, and you should, too. It's not that I hate people, but I do love peace. I would rather be alone than around a bunch of people, which is different from how I was 10 years ago. Back then, I was saying yes to everybody, including fake friends, constant drama, and people who drained me. I realized the actual value of what I need to protect my peace, and then everything changed. I chose peace over drama. And I'm probably not alone. As I've gotten older, my circle has gotten smaller, and the people I want to be around are shrinking even more. Stillness is a beautiful thing, and having calm and peace is powerful. It can change everything. Why it's important to avoid people:



People drain what they don't build. People will take anything you'll give, such as your time, energy, and resources. They will take as much as you're willing to give and not give back. They're not really clapping for you with your wins because they are competing with you. The moment you stop giving, they'll take off. They're not a true friend. Spend time with people who build you up, energize you, and provide you with life.

Peace is better than popularity. I used to be the guy who wanted everyone to like me, but as I've gotten older, I realize that popularity and peace can't coexist. If you're constantly seeking approval or trying to be popular, it's impossible to have peace of mind because you're constantly seeking. I don't want to be stressed out by who I am hanging out with. My close family and friends respect me, and that's enough.

Drama is addictive. Peace is addictive, too. So, chaos can feel normal when it's ever-present. We feed off of it, and it feels normal. But once you step back and remove yourself, these people are chaotic and toxic. Calmness feels good and is better than chaotic messes.

Boundaries are a superpower. I used to feel guilty when I said 'no' to others' invites. Now I feel guilty when I say 'yes'. As you mature, you get more comfortable with your own skin, and it's liberating. Boundaries think like that, too. Boundaries are filters, and you don't owe anybody access to you.

The right people are not draining. These people add value and make you feel good when you leave a conversation or interaction. Surround yourself with people who energize and excite you. When people drain you in interactions, you can feel like you've wasted valuable time. When you become selective with the people you surround yourself with, you value the peace, quiet, and calm that comes with it.
