Airport (KTI) in Cambodia. While "extreme" usually implies danger or difficulty, landings at KTI are actually described as "extreme" in a different sense: extremely impressive and modern.
Since KTI officially replaced the old Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) in late 2025, it has become a hotspot for aviation enthusiasts due to its massive scale and the heavy aircraft it can now accommodate.
Because the airport is located in a relatively flat, open area in Kandal Province, plane spotters have found locations very close to the perimeter. This provides "extreme" views of giant jets touching down just meters away.
Scenic Approach: The descent offers a unique view of the Cambodian landscape, transitioning from the Mekong and Tonle Sap rivers to the massive, bamboo-domed terminal designed by Foster + Partners.
