2nd part of the opening few minutes of Anglia Television from 27th October 1959 giving a taster of the wonderful programmes viewers could expect to see on this young vibrant new channel.
Anglia went on to make some much loved shows over the years including Sale of the Century, Tales of the Unexpected, Gambit, childrens show Knightmare and the award winning wildlife series Survival. It also produced programmes specifically for the East Anglia region which being largely a farming area naturally concentrated on that subject eg Farming Diary and Bygones. About Anglia was the regional news programme. Anglia survived right up to 2004 when it was absorbed into the corporate ITV PLC group and lost its identity.
