Ranmaru the Shiba Inu has a keen sense of smell.
Because of this, Ranmaru seems to remember the scent of people he passes on the street, and will even try to follow a stranger, like an elderly woman he once passed.
In this video, Ranmaru is reunited with his family upon their return home.
As Ranmaru happily sniffs and snorts in delight at being reunited with his family, he suddenly smells the aroma of a yakiniku (Japanese barbecue) restaurant.
Ranmaru suddenly notices the meat that has been brought back as a gift, and his eyes light up for a moment as he gazes at it.
After fully enjoying the reunion, Ranmaru receives the gift and, a little later, enjoys the yakiniku.
