New Zarqa is one of the most important suburbs of the Jordanian city of Zarqa, located to the west of the city, near the oil refinery and the Al-Hussein thermal station for the production of electric power. The area of New Zarqa is about 5 km².
It is considered one of the modern suburbs, as it is among the projects to develop and increase the area of Zarqa City. There is Prince Hussein Military College, from which about 2,000 officers graduate annually. The new Zarqa includes several streets and residential areas such as Al-Batrawi, Street 36, Street 16.
Street 36 is considered the vital and main street in the suburb and the economic one, as well as the Prince Mohammed Youth City, which is the only sports city in Zarqa Governorate. Fans, swimming pools and picnic areas, and the high population density makes it one of the important areas of the city.
