TDs Go HEAD-TO-HEAD Over Controversial Rental Reforms | Dáil Debate

Описание: Earlier today, the Dáil approved the Second Stage of the Residential Tenancies Bill (Miscellaneous Provisions) Bill 2026 by 73 votes to 68. All remaining stages in the Dáil are scheduled to conclude later tonight, with the Bill moving to the Seanad tomorrow. This video covers the first section of the Committee Stage debate, where TDs examine the detail of the legislation and consider proposed amendments.

The proposed reforms to the rental system are set to commence at the beginning of next month, subject to completion of the legislative process.

The Committee Stage is a critical point in the passage of any Bill. It is where the text is scrutinised line by line, and where Government and Opposition members put forward amendments, raise concerns, and seek clarification on how the changes will operate in practice.
