Awesome Tips on potting air layer fresh cuttings - Japanese Maples

This video gives helpful tips on how to successfully grow the fresh cuttings from air layer. Instead go directly to potting them, you need to pre-pot them with peat moss or sphagnum moss and soak it in fresh water for 3 to 4 weeks to promote new roots. After ton of new roots established, you can re-pot it into a 5 gals pot and keep them in the shade for couple weeks before move them to partial shade a couple more weeks, then move them to full sun or leave them in partial shade for plants that sensitive to full sun. The new plants will grow vigorously during this pre-pot phase. A thick new root system will form. You can keep them in water longer than 4 weeks if you fall behind on your workload but they should be ready after 3 to 4 weeks.

I am using Japanese maple in this case but this method applicable to any plants. I've done this on orange, tangerine, kumquat, lemon,...,etc with great success.
