After 11 months of postponing this recreation, I'm finally bringing it to you, this time, i extended the 5 minutes version that i uploaded six days ago! Unlike all the versions I've done before, this one is by far the most complete and the one I enjoyed making the most. In fact, this recreation is very different from the previous ones, not only because I didn't use Monkey Bee in this version, but the entire structure is different in every way. I mean, remember how the previous one had a structure similar to M1A1? Well, here everything is different.
For this recreation, I thought a lot about "Three Changes," a song by The Good, The Bad & The Queen, which is composed of a first part, the bridge, and a final part that is different but at the same time essentially the same as the first part. I took that into account for this recreation to create a smooth transition between Gruff Rhys's part and The Horrors' part. The first part is like an instrumental track made by The Horrors for Gruff Rhys to sing. The bridge, which connects to the third part, is entirely by The Horrors and features the snippet everyone already knows.
I made this recreation taking into account the following description:
"Song was about the Livyatan whale / about a man having paranoid delusions about a whale trying to kill him. Rhys described the song as "more of a night-time song, a three o'clock in the morning, speeding down the autobahn evading West German police-type track". A LQ snippet was previewed on 'The Making of Plastic Beach' DVD. Base-less rumours claim it's 12 minutes long. Cass Browne later revealed that Damon removed the song from the tracklist as he felt that "Glitter Freeze" fit "that section" of Plastic Beach."
While the lyrics I used for Gruff Rhys's part aren't specifically about a man fantasizing about a whale that wants to kill him, it's the closest I could find for his verses. In fact, I was surprised to hear the song I took the lyrics from, since it does have similarities to the rhythm of Leviathan at times, and well, it's about whales, so...
In this 9 minutes Special, i actually used more elements.
The songs used were:
