UNI2 Arcade Highlights: The Protagonist of a Different Timeline

Описание: UNI2's character arcade blurbs were screencapped as early as the EVO reveal weekend and the odd revelation was that most of the characters' arcade ladders in 2 were picking up the story from their own individual arcade mode stories being treated as canon.

The statement that each character's arcade mode being canon doesn't necessarily seem to be true as the game's website itself featuring said blurbs also state that Hyde was the one who truly defeated Hilda in the Hollow Night. Taking a look at arcades like Hilda's or Wagner's pretty much confirm that not all arcade ladders actually took place. I haven't done an exhaustive look if there are any arcade encounter discrepancies but Wagner' arcade is an easy case since she wipes out Amnesia and she doesn't run into more Amnesia members in her arcade in 2 but the fact that everyone is still around means none of the endings where someone gets eaten by Merkava for example is canon.

Seth is in a weird twilight zone. Recall that his arcade mode in 1 literally has him beat Hyde, take the Insulator, and be the one to "rescue" Linne, effectively hijacking the Main Character position from Hyde. His UNI2 arcade ladder does not mention Hyde from either him nor Linne so this one particular arcade story might actually be in its own little alternate reality where Hyde just got pushed off the main character seat. It's also one of two endings where Linne suddenly gains like 4-6 physical years and I can't even begin to explain her rapid aging and why it decided to stop there. We have no idea if Seth comes out of his arcade ending alive either.

The start of Seth's arcade also has him take Linne's Seal away from her and have him bear it instead, inducing incredible strain on his person. Weirdly enough, this event seems to be occurring both in and out of his arcade mode as evidenced by Gordeau and Kuon's encounter in their arcades with Seth who both point out he's looking exhausted. Him not knowing Vatista at all also kind of goes against the updated character relationship status where most people affiliated with Hyde like Linne, Orie, and Yuzu are aware of Hyde's closet robot. On the flipside, he doesn't seem to be under any particular stress in Phonon's encounter with him and in Linne's own arcade conclusion where she retains her seal.

Seth is definitely in the weirdest state out of the entire cast where he seems to be either working in tandem with Hyde or working solo in a world where Hyde is just out of the picture.
