How to replace an elastic waistband in trousers / pants / shorts where the elastic has become overstretched and the elastic doesn't hold up any more. Using a sewing machine and a basic sewing kit, this is easy to replace at home.
In this example, I'm replacing the waistband in a pair of PJ trousers where the elastic had been stitched into the main seams of the garment, so it didn't have a clear channel running through the whole waistband.
