There are many near misses when drivers facing a solid green light fail to yield to oncoming traffic or to drivers making a left turn at the light.

Right-turning vehicles generally have the right-of-way, especially if they have a green light.

Treat a solid green as a yield if turning left like a flashing yellow arrow.

If there is oncoming traffic, wait behind the line and don't turn your wheels.
If there is no oncoming traffic and no pedestrians, you turn without stopping.

A left turn on green yields to oncoming traffic, including traffic turning right into the same lane.

If there are two lanes, they are both free to turn. However, the driver turning left must exercise caution.

Caution because a driver may or may not choose to apply them.
