DESIGN DETAILS
Coordination of different distributed generation (DG) units is essential to meet the increasing demand for electricity. Many control strategies, such as droop control, master-slave control, and average current-sharing control, have been extensively implemented worldwide to operate parallel-connected inverters for load sharing in DG network. Among these methods, the droop control technique has been widely accepted in the scientific community because of the absence of critical communication links among parallel-connected inverters to coordinate the DG units within a microgrid.
This Matlab design is based on Genetic algorithm to tune the gains/parameters of Kp and Ki values which is connected to the plant. The plant (droop control) parameters are chosen based on Kp and Ki values obtained by applying Hybrid Algorithm (GA+PSO) to reduce the restoration time. Four indices to depict the system performance: ISE, IAE, ITAE and ITSE. Therefore, for the Hybrid Algorithm based PI tuning, these performance indexes above equation will be used as the objective function in this design.
Using Matlab 2020a/2021b version the performance of the Hybrid Algorithm for PI (Kp and Ki) values is validated.
