Testing the DJI Osmo Action 4 in rainy conditions around Mowbray Drive, Blackpool, should generally be safe due to its high waterproof rating, but certain malfunctions have been reported by users that you should watch for during your test:
Audio Clogging: Heavy rain can clog the microphone and speaker. This often results in muffled audio or being unable to hear notification "beeps" when starting/stopping recordings.
Lens Fogging/Droplets: While the camera body is sealed, water droplets can stay on the lens, affecting image clarity. Unlike the newer Action 5, the Action 4 may struggle more with persistent droplets without a hydrophobic coating.
Touchscreen Sensitivity: Moisture on the screen can sometimes lead to "ghost touches" or reduced responsiveness, common in all touchscreen devices when wet.
