Some technical information:
I use Davinci Resolve Studio as video editing software and output the HDR via a Blackmagic DeckLink card. The hardware I use is a powerful PC with 32 CPU cores and an Nvidia RTX 4090 graphics card.

For maximum quality, I output the video in DNxHR HQX 10 bit. For 6 minutes in 8K HDR 60fps, this requires about 400GB of storage space. The raw data comprise approx. 1 TB.

If you also want to create 8K HDR videos, you need at least 32 GB RAM and 24 GB GPU memory. With less RAM, there will unfortunately be crashes again and again, depending on the effects and calculations. Some calculations are not even possible with less than 24 GB GPU memory.

To optimise my HDR work, I use two different HDR monitors. OLED monitors offer impressive contrasts and perfect black levels, but have difficulties in displaying the 1000 nits (HDR brightness / SDR films are mastered for 100nits.) with large white image areas. Mini-LED monitors with FALD technology solve this brightness problem easily, but have certain limitations in dark areas and are inaccurate here.

Since there is no perfect HDR monitor yet and unfortunately every monitor has its advantages and disadvantages, it is advisable to evaluate videos on different monitor technologies at the same time.
