They get dangerous when the model they trust no longer applies.
This video explores what happens at the moment of failure — when familiar explanations stop working and action based on experience would make things worse.
Using the Miracle on the Hudson as a grounding example, I look at why the first action in these moments isn’t decisiveness, creativity, or control — but cognitive release: letting go of the wrong model so a more accurate way of seeing can emerge.
