This video marks Day 1 of learning the Olekha language in Rukha Village, Wangdue Phodrang, home to one of Bhutan’s endangered and lesser-known languages.
Olekha is spoken by a small community, and like many indigenous languages, it faces the risk of disappearing. Through this series, we aim to document, learn, and promote Olekha, while respecting the knowledge, culture, and identity of the local community.
