Описание: Encore une fois, c’est en pigeant dans ma voute d’enregistrements faits sur cassettes (4 tracks) dans les années 80’ et 90’ que je suis tombé sur un enregistrement que j’avais fait d’un concert du Nelson Symonds Quartet fait à Chicoutimi au bar L’entre Temps (lieu qui n’existe évidemment plus) dans le cadre d’un petit festival de musique en juin 1992. Sur ces cassettes (numérisés depuis) il y a de véritables bijoux ou l’on retrouve Nelson Symonds dans une forme incroyable et au sommet de son art! Quel honneur d’avoir pu partager la scène avec Nelson de 1986 à 2008, l’année de son décès.

Je tiens aussi à souligner l’incroyable performance de mes collègues de l’époque Jean Beaudet au piano, ainsi que le regretté Paul Léger à la batterie (décédé en 2017) , qui tout au long de ces années avec Nelson, furent des accompagnateurs hors pair et en complète synergie avec cette légende du jazz canadien.

Je posterai donc au cours des prochaines semaines ces enregistrements (9 pièces au total!), question de partager ce patrimoine et ce trésor national avec vous. Mon intention avec ces enregistrements était de graver un double CD pour 2026, mais faute de moyen, je me contenterai de les partager sur YouTube, de cette façon au moins les amateurs pourront en profiter pleinement! Once again, it was while digging through my vault of cassette recordings (4-track) from the 80s and 90s that I stumbled upon a recording I had made of the Nelson Symonds Quartet playing a concert in Chicoutimi at the bar L’entre Temps (a place that obviously no longer exists) as part of a small music festival in June 1992. On these cassettes (since digitized) are real gems where you can find Nelson Symonds in an incredible form and at the peak of his artistry! What an honor to have been able to share the stage with Nelson from 1986 to 2008, the year of his passing.

I also want to highlight the incredible performance of my colleagues from that time, Jean Beaudet on piano and the late Paul Léger on drums (who passed away in 2017), who throughout those years with Nelson were outstanding accompanists, working in complete synergy with this legend of Canadian jazz.

I will therefore be posting these recordings (a total of 9 songs!) over the next few weeks to share this heritage and national treasure with you. My intention with these recordings was to release a double CD by 2026, but due to a lack of resources, I will simply share them on YouTube. This way, at least fans can fully enjoy them!
