A few years after returning from England Dwijendralal Roy had formed an association named 'Daakate Club' or the Band of Robbers. Each Sunday the members met and songs, poetry, debates took place till midnight. Rabindranath was almost a regular visitor in the association. Often a scapegoat was served with a notice that on the next day 'a robbery shall be held' in his house. Gagonendranath of Jorasanko was the first to receive such a notice. Worried Gagonendra replied immediately that the said robbery would not be successful as his house was under repair and was jammed with building materials and scaffoldings. Soon he arranged for a crafted Evening party and invited all the robbers along with his friends. It was known to be a grand and successful one. Rabindranath had presented the song 'Ekhono taare chokhe dekhini ...' in that meeting.
