This footage shows the Sarmat ICBM launching from the Yasny missile base in Orenburg. The missile exits the silo with full ignition but immediately starts losing control, spinning sideways instead of climbing straight. It flips over in the air and detonates at low altitude with a massive fireball, followed by a distinctive purple smoke trail from the fuel. This is another failed test of Russia’s so-called “unstoppable nuke,” adding to a history of previous malfunctions and technical setbacks. The scene clearly shows failure in early flight phase and debris falling back to the ground.
Analysis:
The Sarmat is designed to carry multiple nuclear warheads.
It keeps failing in early-stage launches.
The issue likely began in its first-stage propulsion or control system.
The visible purple smoke points to fuel residue reaction.
These failures show continuing cracks in Russia’s missile reliability.
