Описание: Pigs are naturally curious - very curious - and social. When given the opportunity they will dig, root and nose everything, preferably together. Even if there is plenty of opportunity available to dig in the ground, they still show interest in each other's hind parts, including tails, to the frustration of the one being nosed. In indoor housed pigs this leads to considerable welfare issues as pigs start to bite each other's tails. Solutions to this problem are summarized on the website of the EU COST project GroupHouseNet.
