A discussion surrounding racial and economic divide in medicine and what we can do as a community to address it.

The purpose of the Diversity, Inclusion & Outreach (DIO) office is to create a culture of inclusion where the diversity of medical students feel respected for their contributions and to produce future generations of culturally aware and competent physicians with who will be actively involved in reducing health care disparities and providing the highest quality patient care for all patients . We provide advising and referrals, enrichment activities that enhance the medical curriculum, and promote effective communication among medical students In addition, a substantial portion of the DIO efforts are devoted to conducting our nationally recognized academic preparation programs that are designed for promising pre-medical students who come from an educationally and/or economically disadvantaged background.
