Ingredients
For Chocolate Bread Rolls
3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
2½ tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
1½ tsp instant yeast
¾ cup warm milk
1 egg
3 tbsp melted butter
For Milk Chocolate Syrup
½ cup milk
¼ cup sugar
2 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp vanilla extract (optional )
Instructions
In a bowl, mix flour, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, and yeast.
Add warm milk, egg, and melted butter.
Mix and knead for 8–10 minutes until smooth.
Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
Divide dough into equal pieces, shape into balls, and place in a greased pan.
Cover and let rise for 25–30 minutes.
Brush with milk and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 18–22 minutes.
Chocolate Milk Syrup
In a small saucepan, whisk milk, sugar, and cocoa powder until smooth.
Place over low heat, stirring constantly.
Heat until the sugar dissolves and the syrup slightly thickens (3–5 minutes).
Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
Brush over warm, freshly baked rolls.
Cool slightly before serving.
