Описание: Ghodsimar Dham is located about 59 km from Koderma district headquarters on the banks of the river Sakri. It is a Shiva temple where devotees gather in large numbers to perform puja, especially during Shrawan and Purnima. The stone idols of the 4 deities on the temple premises are ancient. There is a belief that wishes will be fulfilled if one prays sincere ly here. This site is also significant from an archaeo logical point of view. Local priests say that it is even mentioned in the Shiva Puran.


घोडसिमर धाम कोडरमा जिला मुख्यालय से लगभग 59 किलोमीटर दूर सकरी नदी के किनारे स्थित है। यह एक शिव मंदिर है, जहाँ बड़ी संख्या में श्रद्धालु पूजा-अर्चना करने के लिए एकत्रित होते हैं, विशेषकर श्रावण और पूर्णिमा के दौरान। मंदिर परिसर में स्थित चारों देवताओं की पत्थर की मूर्तियाँ प्राचीन हैं। ऐसी मान्यता है कि यहाँ सच्चे मन से प्रार्थना करने पर मनोकामनाएँ पूरी होती हैं। यह स्थल पुरातात्विक दृष्टि से भी महत्वपूर्ण है। स्थानीय पुरोहितों का कहना है कि इसका उल्लेख शिव पुराण में भी मिलता है।

Ghodsimar Dham is a highly revered ancient Shiva temple and archaeological site located in the Koderma district of Jharkhand, India. Situated approximately 59 km from the district headquarters on the banks of the Sakri River, it is a significant spiritual sanctuary for pilgrims and a site of historical interest.

Mythological Origin: Local folklore suggests that the demon-king Ravana stayed at this location while carrying the divine Shivalinga from Lord Shiva to Lanka.

Architecture: Local priests believe the temple was built by Lord Vishwakarma in a single night. It features a massive five-foot circular Shivalinga that is said to exhibit a divine glow after rituals.

Historical Depth: The temple is estimated to be approximately 2,400 years old. An inscription on the door frame reportedly mentions a date as old as 1336 BC.

Deities: While primarily dedicated to Lord Shiva, the premises house ancient stone idols of four main deities and numerous other statues including Gauri, Ganesh, Vishnu, Hanuman, and Durga.
