PAST: During three rainy summer weeks more than 600 visitors attended the public residency Haus#99 in the Basel Neumatt district. The project by curator Benedikt Wyss and stage designer Demian Wohler was a public experiment. During one week twelve artists turned the demolition house into a living organism, open to the public from noon to midnight. Walls could be torn down and floors ripped open.

PRESENT: This video collage is shown in the exhibition FORUM BASEL, curated by Andreas Ruby and Stéphanie Savio at S AM Schweizerisches Architekturmuseum (19 May–18 June 2017): «The more heterogeneous societies become, the more important it is to provide open spaces where we can experience ourselves as part of a community».

FUTURE: Thomas Jeppe’s underground gallery Unsere Umwelt, produced in the garden of Haus#99, will be followed by UMWELT MODE– a collaborative exhibition taking place at Clarastrasse 13, in a construction site in a gutted building formerly occupied by a generic clothing store.
