Punching the Ticket is a bluegrass storytelling song about motion, observation, and the quiet distance between people sharing the same journey.
This track follows Silas, an aging railroad conductor walking the aisle of a moving train through the Appalachian mountains.
He knows the stations. He knows the schedules.
But the lives passing in front of him remain fragments — glimpses, gestures, and unfinished stories.
Each ticket punched is a small, metallic moment of contact.
A click. A hole in the card.
Then the train moves on.
