In this video, we explain what Bancha is and how it is made. While more premium Sencha and Gyokuro are made from the top 3 leaves of the tea plant, Bancha is made from the older leaves of the tea plant along with some stems. This produces an entirely different flavor, lower caffeine and a different mineral composition.
