This custom built .so file was built by one of the SDRAngel developers after we spent some time troubleshooting why I was unable to get a GPS lock from a 4800 buad USB GPS. Turns out the 22.04 Ubuntu package maintainer did not include the plugin by default. There's no audio, just a quick explanation as to how to fix and quickly set it up.
The plugin can be downloaded from:
http://sdrangel.org/downloads/libqtpo...
And should be copied to: /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/qt5/plugins/position/
Set serial port number from command line like I show in the video or like this before running SDRangel:
export QT_NMEA_SERIAL_PORT=/dev/ttyACM0
(For some devices, it may be /dev/ttyUSB0)
There’s also an option added to set the baud rate to by another environment variable (which will be for this custom linux library only):
export QT_NMEA_SERIAL_BAUD_RATE=4800
Near the start of the log, it should say:
2023-03-06 11:46:15.429 (D) Opening serial port "/dev/ttyACM0" with baud rate 4800
If you want to check if the serialnmea plugin is being loaded, use:
export QT_DEBUG_PLUGINS=1
I just quickly did a small drive test while I had equipment with me to show it works.
