The game between Utah and San Diego State had a thrilling ending as the game went to triple overtime before the Aztecs won the game 33-31. Utah trailed 24-10 late and appeared to be defeated, but then scored 2 touchdowns in the final 5 minutes to send the game to overtime tied at 24. In the first OT, the two teams quickly exchanged touchdowns, tying the game at 31. In the second OT they both missed field goals. In the third OT, San Diego State busted out the "Philly Special" to take a 33-31 lead. On Utah's two point attempt, they threw a pass that was initially called complete, but after review, the call on the field was overturned and San Diego State was declared the winners. The Aztecs defeated the Utes 33-31 in a triple overtime thriller.
