The Longkong Nanshan Giant Buddha/Nanshan Grand Buddha 山东烟台龙口南山大佛
360 steps lead to this big Buddha, which coincides with the circumference of 360°, symbolizing the cycle of life. There is a platform for every 60 steps, and each platform has a golden lotus. This giant Buddha is the world's largest seated bronze statue, the Nanshan Giant Buddha.
The Nanshan Giant Buddha is located in Longkou City, Yantai City, Shandong Province. It is 38.66 meters high and weighs 380 tons. Totally tt is composed of 642 tin bronze castings, including 232 Buddha bodies, 108 lotus petals and 302 hair buns.
Under the Buddha's lotus seat, there are three-story buildings, namely the Hall of Merit, Hall of Ten Thousand Buddhas, and the Museum of Buddhist History. The Nanshan Giant Buddha is one of the highlights of the Nanshan Mountain Scenic Area, the famous 5A scenic spot in Yantai, which attracts countless tourists every year.
