Why the Uzi Kinda' Sucks by Nutnfancy

If we go by numbers produced and used they could be right. But here in this feature length Uzi Carbine review I'll go over some of my findings that might tarnish the Uzi reputation just a titch.

This is a Vector Arms produced semi auto version only version and they have a solid reputation, it is highly desired by many gun collectors. The values prove that. So while this is basically a PCC, the components/manufacture are the same [minus full auto and a few very intentional tweaks to keep Bubba from getting cute] and so we'll pretend this is an overall Uzi review too. I'm not the end all Uzi expert but with this gun I was forced to take a deep dive in this long term, expensive gun test.

The Uzi has been sold to us as the AK of the sub gun world: ready for dirt, dust, mud, water...whatever. That it will just keep on chugging no matter what is what most will say is the foundation of the UZI HOUSE. Enter the curse of the TNP desert...and several trips to the gunsmith. For sure this is just one example and I do make it a clear point that under the watchful stewardship of a Uzi trained armorer; keep one on retainer if you get one. But under his watchful eye I imagine the Uzi will shred just fine.

But what happens when one gets out in the wild, like this one, and becomes a "cherished grail gun." Surely it will uphold the reputation built on decades of combat in wars around the world. Maybe, maybe not. Maybe it is actually a particular piece requiring particular things to work right...who would have thought?! And there's more to the Uzi than just reliability or tempermentalness. I will discuss SAWC, ergos, sights, carry-ability, magazines, competitive options (including modern) and more. Will this be another TNP episode of shooting down the great ones (RIP GALIL fans    • Galil Rifle Fail: Century Arms' Golani Fal...   Perhaps.

At any rate where here to have some entertainment and I will deliver on that front. And in the end you may find yourself x-ing the Uzi of your Christmas list. Money saved. But no matter what I say here the Uzi, in all its forms, will remain an icon, having left an indelible impression in popular culture and current events that is rock solid.
