The Faithfulness Of Jesus

Based on John 13:1 – Now before the feast of the Passover, when Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end.

In this rich and deeply comforting sermon, Spurgeon unfolds the golden thread of Christ’s unwavering love as revealed in John 13:1. Tracing that love from eternity past, through the frailties and failures of the disciples, and onward to the cross and beyond, he magnifies the steadfast affection of a Savior who never grows weary of His own. From the upper room to Calvary, from intercession to eternal glory, Christ’s love is shown to be constant, intentional, and immovable.

Spurgeon tenderly applies this truth to believers who are still in the world—tempted, afflicted, imperfect, and often discouraged. The heart of the message is this: nothing in us, nor anything that may befall us, can exhaust the love of Jesus. He loved His people from everlasting, He loves them now in all their weakness, and He will love them to the uttermost end—through life, through death, and into eternal glory.
