The Katas Raj Temples, located near Kalar Kahar in Punjab, Pakistan, are one of the most important Hindu religious and historical sites in South Asia. This temple complex, standing at an altitude of 2000 feet, consists of multiple temples interconnected by corridors, with a sacred pond at its heart known as Katas.
According to Hindu belief, the pond was formed from the tears of Lord Shiva after the death of his beloved wife, Sati. Another tradition claims that Lord Krishna laid the foundation of the temple and hand-carved the sacred shillings within it. Covering an area of nearly 2 canals and 15 marlas with a depth of 20 feet, the Katas pond remains a site of deep spiritual significance for devotees.
