Microsoft Combat Flight Simulator: WWII Europe Series (1998)

Описание: Built on Flight Simulator 98 tech, first from CFS series that depicted WW2 conflict in Europe. The game was released in 1998 into already saturated market with plenty of other WW2 flight sims like European Air War from Microprose, Jane's WW2 Fighters from EA or then upcoming Fighters Squadrons from Parsoft/Activision. What a year it was for WW2 themed flight sim fans.

There are two campaign available - Battle of Britain (RAF vs Luftwaffe) and Battle of Europe (USAAF vs Luftwaffe). There are also single missions, quick combat mode, training sorties and free flight available.

The flight and damage modelling compared to Jane's WW2 or EAW were subpar, but the mission ideas very pretty cool I have to admit. Also graphics were really good for the time with the sound being the best from the titles it competed with in 1998 IMHO.

This runs natively on Windows 10 without any tweaks, wrappers or compatibility options. The only issue I have is that the image during missions will sometimes freeze, but if I go to graphics options and reload the display driver it will unfreeze itself.
