National Farmers’ Federation President David Jochinke says farmers have “no ability” to talk about or influence the construction of transmission lines over agricultural land.
Mr Jochinke has questioned whether the land chosen by the government is “the best location possible” to build transmission lines.
“That, for us, is one of the greatest issues around the planning, the location, and even the way they are placed within the landscape,” Mr Jochinke told Sky News host Steve Price.
“To make sure that it’s impacting the least on farmers and making sure that we are protecting that prime land.”
Sky News host Steve Price sat down with Mr Jochinke to discuss transmission line projects and their impact on farmers.
