Sling systems are areas of connective tissue that join segments of our body together that when trained well, improve the function and efficiency of our movement.
The posterior oblique sling system comprises of the latissimus dorsi muscle connecting into the opposing glute and hamstring tissue. When we walk and when we run, this sling system contracts together to propel ourselves forwards.
In this video, we describe the biomechanics of the body in relation to running, and how we can use exercises in the gym to train this sling system better to improve on our running technique and efficiency.
