Join me for a sunny day drive along the Chaktomuk River. On this journey, you will see a mix of Phnom Penh’s rich history and its modern future, including the city's oldest bridge, stunning new skyscrapers, the vibrant riverside walk in front of the Royal Palace, and our newest landmark bridge.
The oldest bridge shown is the Chroy Changvar Bridge, originally built in 1963. In contrast, you will also see the Koh Norea Bridge, a modern cable-stayed bridge. Construction on this project began in 2020, and the government officially opened it to the public in 2023. This bridge serves as a vital link between Koh Pich and the Koh Norea development area, significantly reducing traffic congestion in the eastern part of Phnom Penh.
