In this video, we try our best to cover the events of July 5, 1977. As a result of the March 1977 elections, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto became Prime Minister of Pakistan. Opposition parties in the title of Pakistan National Alliance were protesting against election rigging. The famous leaders of Pakistan at that time, Maududi, Shah Ahmad Noorani, Mufti Mehmood Ur Rehman , Zahoor Elahi, Asghar Khan, Wali Khan, were the leaders of this protest. The country was heading towards civil war. When Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto completely failed to convince the opposition parties, General Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq Shaheed had to impose martial law for the sake of national security.
