Описание: R’ Chaim Kanievsky Shlita has been asked by many about the status of Murex Techeiles. We have gathered here several of his responses. These responses seem to say that, in his opinion Techeiles cannot return until Moshiach arrives, but he felt that there is room for others to disagree. For those who feel this is the correct Techeiles, he has clearly ruled to them that they MUST wear it.

The questioner is the esteemed R' Amichai Toporowitz, father of R' Yechezkel Toporowitz, who runs a shul in Monsey.

הרב ע.ט.: ״…נגנז - הרמב״ם והסמ״ג והרי״ף לא הזכירוהו להלכה בכלל, רק שנגנז לשעתו, שעד כמה שנגנז, נגנז…״
הגרח״ק זצ״ל: ״זייט געזונט - אתה מחוייב ללבוש.״
חתן הגרח״ק זצ״ל: ״הוא [הרב ע.ט.] עוסק בזה שלוש שנים יומם ולילה…״
הגרח״ק זצ״ל: ״שיהיה בהצלחה… ותכוין להוציא אותי.״
הרב ע.ט.: ״איך אפשר… איך אפשר.״
הרב ע.ט.: ״שהרב אומר לי שאני מחוייב זה כבר זכות.״
הגרח״ק זצ״ל: ״אם אתה מחזיק שאתה יודע ברור אתה מחוייב ע״פ דין.״

English Translation:


Rav Amichai Toporivich.: “…It was hidden — the Rambam, the SeMaG, and the Rif don’t mention it as a halacha at all. Just that it was hidden for its time. And as far as it was hidden, it remains hidden…”
HaGaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l: “Zei Gezunt — You are obligated to wear it.”
Rav Chaim’s son-in-law: “He [Rav Amichai Toporovich] has been involved in this for three years, day and night…”
HaGaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l: “Hatzlacha… and have in mind to fulfill my obligation as well.”
Rav Amichai Toporivich: “How can it be… how can it be.”
Rav Amichai Toporivich: “If the Rav tells me I’m obligated, that itself is already a zechus (merit).”
HaGaon Rav Chaim Kanievsky zt”l: “If you are holding that you know clearly, then you are obligated according to halacha.”
