As a highly capable tier one unit, the 24th Special Tactics Squadron sets itself apart from the other tier one units because of its unique mission set and communities that make up the unit.

The communities that make up the 24th Special Tactics Squadron are predominantly Air Force Combat Controllers (CCT), Pararescuemen (PJ’s), Special Reconnaissance (SR), and select Tactical Air Control Party airmen (TACP).
