SeverTheBond close out their concept album Dark Tokyo with a devastating finale, “Don’t Bother Watching The News.” The track delivers a crushing mix of alt metal, metalcore, and cinematic storytelling, pulling listeners into the aftermath of a galactic rebellion where truth itself has been rewritten.

As the United Planetary Alliance spreads propaganda to bury the events of the previous battle, protagonist Kaz stands at the crossroads, torn between exposing the truth or surrendering to comfortable ignorance. The song explodes with razor-sharp riffs, thundering percussion, and anguished vocals that drive home the chaos of manipulation and control in a media-driven dystopia.

“Don’t Bother Watching The News” is more than a song,  it’s a statement on narrative control, desensitization, and how societies are pacified by distraction. The lyrical repetition of “Ding dong, the traitor’s gone” captures the eerie complacency of a world spoon-fed lies while its heroes are erased from memory.

The track’s soundscape mirrors its message,  heavy, unrelenting, and emotionally charged. As the final act of Dark Tokyo, it brings closure to the Stellar Rose Saga’s first book while daring listeners to question what’s real and what’s been rewritten in their own world.
