STORYLINE:
Recruits from southern Russia were on Tuesday filmed by The Associated Press training in the Russian-controlled Donetsk region of Ukraine.
The footage was captured as a part of a press facility organised by the officials in the Russian controlled Donetsk region.
According to separatist officials, recruits from the Rostov region were training on Tuesday before being sent to the frontline.
The footage showed recruits being instructed how to hold, load, aim and fire rifles, and one soldier was filmed firing a rocket-propelled grenade.
The Kremlin has said it plans to call-up some 300,000 people. Russia's Defence Ministry has promised to only draft those who have combat or service experience.
AP cannot independently confirm this information.
