Ten-year-old Leah Lendel is back in the water collecting shark teeth after a horror attack at Boca Grande Beach, Florida, last June left her hand nearly severed.
Months of surgery and intensive therapy restored movement and sensation. Her mother praised quick-thinking by her husband and nearby workers for saving Leah’s hand.
Despite the trauma, Leah’s love of the ocean remains undimmed, and she hopes to become a marine biologist studying sharks.
