It's hard to imagine a rockier start to a new government. Less than five weeks in power, Romania's ruling coalition has prompted the country's biggest protests since the fall of communism almost three decades ago. Half a million people filled the streets calling for the government to resign. The response was sparked by a decree which would've watered down anti-corruption laws - you could avoid jail time if your offence totalled less than 50,000 dollars. The government said it was meant to relieve pressure on overcrowded prisons. But critics point out it would've protected some of the ruling party's politicans from prosecution. Can people power force the government out of office?
